Att. Merve Özel obtained her law degree from Yeditepe University Faculty of Law as a high honor student. Right after her graduation, she interned at one of the esteemed law firms in Türkiye. She completed her statutory internship and admitted to Istanbul Bar Association in 2014.

While practicing as a lawyer, she was awarded Jean Monnet scholarship and she commenced her postgraduate degree at Queen Mary University of London. She successfully completed it by submitting her thesis entitled "Financial Assistance Prohibition and Its Impact on Leveraged Buyouts: An Analysis from the Perspective of the EU and Turkish Law".

Before establishing OZEL Attorneys at Law, she practiced as a lawyer in reputable Turkish law firms. Throughout her career, Att. Merve Özel was involved in numerous projects and advised for international and local clients for their investment deals such as M&A, joint venture and project finance. She also provided legal assistance for investment deals of Turkey’s well known start-up technology companies. Att. Merve Özel regularly assists international and local clients in the fields of commercial and corporate law, contracts, real estate, data protection and e-commerce law. She is representing local and international clients before Turkish courts on various commercial and real estate law related disputes.
